If you missed it, you missed a great show.
The night started out with the news that Awesome Andy had dislocated his
shoulder and suffered some other shoulder injuries at an event in New
Mexico. The front office lackey Max Magius made the announcement to the
crowd and let it be known that the board of directors was awarding the
RMCW Inter-Regional Championship to Brian Von Dusen. Von Dusen thought
his night was over, but Max made it clear that if Brian didn't wrestle
Max would strip him of the title and give it to someone willing to
wrestle that night to fill the promised Inter-Regional Title match. It
was eventually announced that Von Dusen would be facing the last man to
beat him in a heads up match over 14 months ago, Austin Storm.
That brings us to the first match, Romeo facing the Returning former
Heavyweight Champion Rowdy Knight. It was a great battle with both men
showing their strengths. Rowdy almost had the match rapped up when The
Long Rider came down to the ring and distracted not only Rowdy Knight
but the Referee as well. This allowed Romeo to use his kendo stick to
knock out Rowdy Knight and get the pin fall.
The Second Match featured The Long Rider making his return to RMCW
against Renegade Rebel. It seemed as if the match would never get
started as Long Rider made multiple complaints about his foe in this
match. After several minutes of this complaining Rebel made his move and
went in for the lock up. Long Rider got the drop and kicked Rebel on his
way in. Long Rider maintained control for most of the match, Just when
Rebel started to heat up and get the swing of the match Romeo showed up.
With the interference Long Rider won the match. After the match they let
the crowd know that the Posse was back and ready to take over the RMCW
again, just as they did many years ago.
Match #3 pits new comer On Hell Dela Muarte against the returning Big
Bud Doobie. This match was a slugfest pitting strength against strength
with a dash of speed and luchalibre added in. The match ends with Bud
Doobie gaining the pin fall.
After the intermission yldbill got his interview with Big Money. It
seemed as if Big Money didn't even want to be at the interview giving
straightforward answers to the questions and then just bailing out of
the ring. He made a point to state that he was going to do what ever it
takes to get the title away from blade. Stating that tonight would
separate the men from the boys.
After the quick interview it was time to get back to action with our 4th
match The Promised RMCW Inter-Regional Championship match. Brian Von
Dusen strutted to the ring with a glow of arrogance after being
literally handed the title earlier in the night. His opponent Austin
Storm came out to a standing ovation and was clearly the crowd favorite.
This match was fast paced with both men getting in their blows against
the other. After about 15 minutes of a back and forth battle Austin
Storm seemed to be getting the upper hand. Just then Von Dusen
intentionally kicks Storm in the groin and gets disqualified, allowing
him to keep the title.
In our 15 minute time limit, 5th match of the evening we brought in
Dustin Urich coming out of the defunct Fusion wrestling organization to
face another returning RMCW star making his return from T.N.A.
Wrestling, Primetime Paul Diamond. I've never seen a match so
competitive in all my life. These men were fighting as if they were
fighting for a title or even for their lives. Power move after power
move, submission after submission, reversal after reversal, The battle
raged with both combatants giving it 110%. Time was ticking down as
Diamond hit the "Primetime flip" as the ref made the count the bell rang
after only a count of 2. Diamond thought he had won only to find out
that the time had run out and the match was being declared a time limit
draw. I look for the board of directors to schedule a rematch in the
near future.
Finally in our main event of the evening we saw Big Money Challenging
Blade for the Rocky Mountain Heavyweight Championship. This match raged
inside and outside the ring. Both combatants making fierce and pounding
blows. Neither man wanting to leave without the title the gladiators
fought with every beat of their hearts. The eventual winner was Blade,
retaining his Title, But I have to hand it to Big Money, he definitely
showed that he deserved to be in the running for the Rocky Mountain
Heavyweight Championship.
